Spousal Visa Route: DV Solicitors recently received news of a successful extension application under the spouse visa route. This was a very complex application in which our client was relying on her partner's income from non-salaried employment to meet the financial requirement of £18,600.
The case was complex because whilst the partner's current job paid him a salary in excess of £18,600, he held this job for less than 6 months. In light of this, he needed to show that in the 12 months prior to the date of the application he had earned a salary of £18,600 from all employments that he had held in those 12 months. The partner had held multiple jobs in those 12 months, working as a contractor for various agencies and getting paid weekly with occasional overtime and some periods without work.
Our Trainee Solicitor, Khurshid Ali, who was instructed to prepare this application, carefully examined all the relevant specified evidence and drafted a detailed cover letter setting out in very clear terms to the Home Office how the partner had earnt just above £18,600 in the previous 12 months.
