Dorothy Turner is undeniably Deo Volente’s virtuoso. Her wealth of experience in the legal industry portrayed a significant element in DV’s years of success today. She joined the team in 2014 as a Consultant and has remained one of the firm’s highly respected solicitors.
Dorothy grew up in County Durham, a cathedral city in the North East of England. She was a very timid village girl who is passionate about learning music. Her studious nature and dexterity in playing the violin secured her a spot at the Durham Youth Orchestra.
A proud shoemaker’s daughter
Dorothy was raised in a simple household. Her parents both left school at age 14 and didn’t have the opportunity to pursue formal education. Her father, a hardworking shoemaker, sacrificed his whole life to give them a better life. All these inspired Dorothy and ignited her passion for becoming someone who can give back to the community. Witnessing all the injustices in the world during her time sparked a strong foundation in delving deep into the world of law. She studied undergraduate law at Staffordshire University in Stoke in Trent, Masters at the University of Bristol, and law finals at Nottingham Trent.
Her friends, spiritual teacher William Bloom, and Yoga teacher Godfrey Devereux are her strongest influences who helped her maintain balance and invoke inner peace. Her breathing philosophy made her subsequently trained as a Yoga teacher and Reiki Master, and in other holistic therapies when she is taking a time out from work. She never forgets to make time with her family and spends time with her three children and two lovely grandchildren which brings so much joy to her life.
She recalls that her fondest memory was seeing Lord Denning sitting at the Royal Courts of Justice- a starstruck moment to witness the most excellent English judge of modern times in flesh. A timeless experience that influenced her to become the triumphant solicitor that she is today.
The DV Life
At Deo Volente, she aims to continue developing her network and continue growing with the team and provide services with the core values of dedication, determination, and delivery together.

She specialises in Wills, Trusts and Probate matters, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Court of Protection work. Besides giving consultation on family matters, including child arrangements, divorce, and marital finances, Dorothy also provides small business, company, and commercial advice to sole traders and co-venturers
She has been doing quite a bit of these lately for her established clients, including musicians, holistic therapists, and those in the Spiritual Welfare and Yoga communities.
